Conservation Commission Approves Frontier Regional School Parking Lot Repaving Near Bloody Brook

DEERFIELD — February 12, 2026 — Deerfield Conservation Commission unanimously approved a school parking lot repaving project near Bloody Brook and announced a commission vacancy. The three-member quorum — Chair Peter Law, Sean Libbey, and Kate Devlin, with Ben Byrne absent — voted 3-0 Thursday to approve the Notice of Intent filed by Frontier Regional School District for property at 113 North Main Street, closing out a continued hearing that had required Berkshire Design Group to add a scour pad at the stormwater outlet, a hydrodynamic separator, pipe-cleaning specifications, and a mandatory daily sweeping requirement in lieu of a construction tracking pad. Chris Baker of Berkshire Design Group confirmed the project will reduce impervious surface by roughly 3,000 square feet and improve water quality before discharge to Bloody Brook. Conservation Agent Tim Eve-Cowles also announced that member Darren Desmaris had resigned to take an evening-shift job, leaving the commission with a vacancy, and that the next meeting was moved up to February 26 to address a new Deerfield Academy application carrying a statutory review deadline.
