Deerfield Conservation Commission Delays Frontier School Parking Lot Approval to February

Deerfield Conservation Commission continues Frontier Regional School parking lot hearing, sets special February 12 meeting. The three-member quorum — Chair Peter Law, Sean Libbey, and Kate Devlin — voted 3-0 Thursday to delay final action on a Notice of Intent filed by the Frontier Regional School District to repave approximately 3.6 acres of parking at 113 North Main Street, DEP File 142-0256, after requesting updated plans that show a culvert cleanout, a riprap scour pad at the Bloody Brook outfall, and corrected stormwater form language. Landscape architect Carlos Nieto of the Berkshire Design Group said the project reduces impervious area by roughly 700 square feet, installs a stormwater chamber designed for 82 percent suspended-solids removal, and restores more than 700 square feet of riverfront area against a 508-square-foot disturbance.

The commission also closed out a 1999 wetlands permit for the Magic Wings butterfly attraction at 281 Greenfield Road, whose owner, George Miller, confirmed the business sold the prior week.
