Deerfield Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approves three-unit conversion of former funeral home at 7 Fair Street.
Zoning Board · Meeting of January 14, 2026
Deerfield Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approves three-unit conversion of former funeral home at 7 Fair Street. The board, chaired by David Potter, voted 4-0 to close a public hearing open since October and 4-0 to grant applicant Gary Bodry's special permit, with board counsel Steve calling the property "a bit atypical" because it holds two principal structures under Deerfield's bylaw. Conditions require a separate permit for any future added apartments.
Separately, member Mark Brennan's motion asking the Select Board to let town employees serve on boards, not just committees, failed 3-1 with one abstention, after member Gaby Richard-Harrington, a town employee, abstained; the board said it needs four members to act on future special permits.
