Shutesbury Select Board Approves Dozens of FY27 Committee Appointments
SHUTESBURY — June 22, 2026 — Shutesbury Select Board fills more than two dozen boards and representative posts for fiscal year 2027. The two-member board — Chair Eric Stalker and Member Michael Makepeace O'Neill — moved committee by committee through the annual appointment list at its June 22 meeting, approving all items unanimously and making one mid-stream correction when it emerged the Planning Board had not yet designated Cliff Reed as its representative to the Community Preservation Committee, deferring that seat to July. The board also voted to sign a Community Preservation Act grant agreement with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments for a shared housing coordinator position. Town Administrator Haley Bolton flagged a town clerk vacancy with July deadlines approaching, reporting two interviews already scheduled and asking whether the board wants to participate before a recommendation is made. Bolton also reported that contractor bids for crumbling sidewalks at the elementary school exceeded a prior appropriation, and that an ADA transition study funded by a $10,000 grant — now posted online — identified the fire station and highway garage as the town's least accessible facilities.
