Buckland Select Board set the Annual Town Meeting for May 5 and warned of a possible tax override. Members voted unanimously to call the meeting for May 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Mohawk Trail Regional School and set a March 24 deadline for warrant articles. The board also awarded a fiscal year 2027 heating oil contract to Sprague Energy, locking in a price after last year's rate of $2.74 a gallon, and voted to pare back a fuel oil surplus.
Town Administrator Pamela Guyette told the board "a two and a half override is probably on the table this year" as the town works through budget formula fixes with new department heads. Guyette also flagged construction costs at a regional technical school as a looming Chapter 70 budget pressure, and the board approved an annual road race permit contingent on police and fire sign-off.
