Select Board names Pollard assistant administrator
Select Board · Meeting of September 21, 2026
Erving Select Board unanimously appoints Emily Pollard assistant town administrator. Town Administrator Bryan Smith credited Pollard with coordinating roughly 40 candidates across six simultaneous hiring searches over the past year and holding a master's degree in accounting in recommending her for the full-time post at Grade E, Step 1, effective October 1, pending a health exam. The board also designated the town's appointed treasurer and elected tax collector as special municipal employees under state conflict-of-interest law, approved $242,372.71 in payroll and $80,956.71 in benefits warrants for fiscal 2027, and issued a one-year solicitation permit to Isaac Wilcox of Trinity Solar.
Members pressed engineers on the 90 percent utility design for the Care Drive extension, rejecting a fully paved cul-de-sac in favor of green space and weighing on-street parking options. "I don't like the logo," Chair Jacob Smith said of the town's branding effort, prompting a push to hire a professional design firm.
