Conway Boards Approve $18,161 in Year-End Transfers Before State Deadline

WHATELY — July 13, 2026 — Conway boards approve $18,161 in end-of-year transfers to close fiscal year 2026. The Conway Select Board and Finance Committee met jointly on July 13 and unanimously approved three separate financial actions before a state-imposed July 15 deadline: a $9,000 reserve fund transfer to the IT budget to cover vendor overexpenditures, a $654 reserve fund transfer to the general legal fund for a final invoice from Town Counsel Donna McNichol, and an $8,507 line-to-line transfer within the accounting budget to shift salary funds to the expenses line to properly pay contracted accounting firm CBiz. The IT transfer drew extended discussion because a roughly $5,000 invoice paid to IT vendor SourcePass in September may have been posted to the wrong account, and the Town Administrator acknowledged that SourcePass had been billing the town in excess of contracted rates on multiple invoices. The administrator committed to a reconciliation report within two weeks, adding: "I'm not going through another fiscal year with them like this." Robert Stone, a former Finance Committee member, was introduced as the recommended appointee to fill a current vacancy on that committee, pending a swearing-in by Town Moderator Jim McCoy.
