Select Board · Meeting of April 28, 2026

Northfield Select Board approved a liquor license for a bank's grand opening and heard the Energy Committee outline $700,000 in grants since 2017. Chair Barbara Jacque and the board also approved $298,919.40 in combined payroll and vendor warrants. The Energy Committee, led by co-chairs Judy Wagner and Jim Van Natta, said a third school ventilation grant was shelved this spring after an expediter missed a data deadline, with plans to reapply in the fall.

Jacque called a proposed LED streetlight conversion especially promising, saying "for $127,000, we could save $500,000 over a 20-year period." The board accepted the resignation of part-time police officer Dale Brown and voted 5-0 to enter executive session over a public records matter. Town Moderator Nathan L'Etoile previewed a May 4 Town Meeting featuring a new consent-article format.
