Select Board · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Erving's Select Board approved transferring a surplus Highway Department truck to the School Department, eliminating a $60,000 tractor purchase. Highway Superintendent Glenn McCrory said the F350 needs about $18,000 in repairs, which the school would cover from its own operating budget, calling it "a $60,000 capital request being wiped right off the board." Selectman James Loynd made the motion, Selectman William Bembury seconded, and it passed unanimously, conditioned on School Committee acceptance. In a joint budget session with the Finance Committee and Capital Planning Committee, Library Director Abigail Baines warned of a $10,176 shortfall and asked for new Sunday staffing, while the Recreation Commission again urged removing the Riverfront Park water tower, drawing pushback from Bembury.

The board also awarded a $27,250 cemetery software contract and approved two payroll warrants totaling $280,274.29.
