The School Committee's Budget, Finance and Warrants Subcommittee, chaired by Childs, voted 3-0 to ask the Community Engagement Subcommittee to survey families on how they want to receive district communications, with member Webb warning she would rather cut "a few pennies on the dollar" from social media than trim programs like strings for kids. The panel reviewed March warrants including a $4,777.92 kitchen equipment purchase for Greenfield High School's culinary program, a $225-a-month Casella Waste Services charge tied to a high school composting pilot, and a $2,312.40 late-bus charge under the district's Kismeskis contract.

Members also questioned a landscaping contract now running $2,991 a month at the high school, down from a historical $6,000, and pressed staff on why food-service vehicles are still tracked by GPS. The subcommittee adjourned at 12:35 p.m.
