Greenfield panel previews Hope Street housing RFP, expects it by June

Greenfield's Economic Development Committee got a preview of the Hope Street housing RFP, expected by the end of June. Councillor Garrett chaired the meeting with councillors Gordon, Minhas and remote member Wondolowski present; Bottomley was absent. A city official identified as Amy reported 281 survey responses and turnout from more than 60 residents at in-person events, with affordable, accessible and family-sized units the top priorities.

She said market-rate proposals will get "bonus points" because the mayor wants to prioritize market-rate housing, and that a councillor's request to add council representation to the RFP review committee was turned down over open-meeting-law concerns. Three parties have already expressed interest in the site. Separately, a First National Bank building RFP has responses due May 14 or 15.
