Greenfield Cultural Council scraps annual report plan and overhauls community arts survey. The council voted unanimously at its May 4 meeting to table a formal annual report after member Bella reported that two and a half hours of AI-assisted analysis of the 2025 grant final reports yielded only what the council already knew — roughly 9,000 participants reached and approximately $30,000 distributed — with handwritten submissions making reliable data extraction impossible. New MCC program officer Lauren Biela, attending her first meeting with the council, told members she is "fairly certain" state allocations will not fall below last year's levels heading into FY27. Bella also reported that the Greenfield Public Library agreed to apply directly for grants, while the Senior Center — whose director is retiring — said it will limit letters of support to one or two preferred applicants rather than endorsing all comers.
