Other Committee · Meeting of October 22, 2026

Greenfield's Community Preservation Committee advanced all but two of a record 19 CPA funding pre-applications at its October 22 meeting. The committee rejected requests from Blooming Greenfield, which sought money for downtown planting maintenance, and from All Souls Unitarian Church, whose "wayside pulpit" sign restoration ran into the state's anti-aid amendment. Recreation Director Christy Moore and Caitlin May Little, secretary of Greenfield Minor League Baseball, fielded questions on a field-safety project before the committee advanced it unanimously.

Members split 6-2 on advancing Greenfield High School field lights over "stadium" eligibility questions, and voted 7-1 to advance Garden Theater sprinkler funding after operator Isaac said the venue draws "over 100,000 visitors a year." A $50,000 request for the town's Concord Coach restoration also advanced. Full applications are due December 9, with City Council recommendations expected this winter.
