GREENFIELD — The Sustainable Greenfield Implementation Committee heard an update on FRTA's $932,000 electric bus grant and approved September's minutes unanimously. Franklin Regional Transit Authority Deputy Administrator Michael Peralt said two new battery-electric minibuses, delivered in August and September, should enter fixed-route service in November, with a four-dispenser DC fast charger targeted for July 2027. Peralt said a Hatch-led study found 38 percent of fixed routes and 24 percent of paratransit runs could go electric now with "minimal operational changes." The committee also heard its OpenSpace Task Force report on roughly 90 vacant city lots under review and the overgrown Mead Street corridor, and Community and Economic Development Director Amy Haley outlined a January 25-27, 2027 public engagement period for updating the city's Economic Development Chapter.

Members also finalized volunteer logistics for the November 5 energy fair, featuring an Eversource "Efficiency Experience" trailer.
