Greenfield CPA panel opens public hearing on 11 funding requests

Greenfield's Community Preservation Committee heard public comment on 11 fiscal 2026 funding requests but took no funding votes, setting up an March 26 deliberation. Resident Al Norman opposed a $65,000 facade request from Spike Segundo LLC and urged the committee to hold off on Rural Development Inc.'s $150,000 ask toward its $24 million, 32-unit Main Street housing project, which would bring that nonprofit's total CPA support to $350,000. Norman, Judy Draper and Steve Alves all backed the Franklin Community Co-op's $120,000 request to restore the former Wilson's building facade, with Norman calling it "the last thing I would cut."
