Greenfield City Council committee chairs set a packed mid-June agenda and posted a contingency budget meeting at their June 2 organizational session. Vice President Garrett chaired the roughly 27-minute meeting, which confirmed agendas for the Economic Development, Appointments and Ordinances, Ways and Means, and Community Relations committees. Ways and Means faces its heaviest single-night load of the year on June 16, covering the full city operating budget, water and sewer enterprise funds, revolving fund budgets, the community preservation budget, and more than a dozen ordinances — including a rental registry amendment that has been in process for months.

Members voted to post a contingency June 18 session in case business runs past 11 p.m., with President Wandolowski favoring a push-through approach: "If we ended up going until 11:15 and then we're done, I'd much rather do that than go into the next day." The Economic Development Committee's June 10 meeting will also take up a proposed zoning amendment to ban data centers in Greenfield, sponsored by Councilor Bullock.
