FCAT Board Lacks Quorum, Tables FY27 Budget Vote and Salary Review

WHATELY — May 21, 2026 — Frontier Community Access Television board met without a quorum Thursday, blocking votes on its fiscal year 2027 budget and general manager's salary. General Manager Jonathan Boshan told the two board members present that the Sunderland Channel 15 broadcast system has failed, leaving meetings recorded but not aired on cable, and that FCAT is working with a vendor on a replacement automated setup. A new cable server expected to cost more than $50,000 is on hold pending the conclusion of franchise negotiations covering Deerfield, Sunderland, and Whately. Boshan confirmed that staff are now being reimbursed for mileage at the IRS rate of $0.72 per mile, with funding already in the operating budget.
