Greenfield Conservation Commission accepts $20,000 CPC award, eyes $40,000 total pending council vote. The commission, chaired by Elizabeth Garofalo, voted 4-0 to accept the Community Preservation Act award for its conservation fund and unanimously ratified an emergency permit for a leaking diesel tank repair at the Mobil station at 142 Mohawk Trail, where field screening found no contamination. Athena Bradley, overseeing the separate $20,000 Miller's Meadow restoration award, said "we're all excited" ahead of a City Council vote expected in June.

Staff also briefed the commission on worsening Green River bank erosion, shown in aerial photos comparing the 1990s to 2025, and on a Franklin Regional Council of Governments river corridor overlay district now before the Planning Board. The commission separately began planning community workshops ahead of renewing its Griswold Conservation Area forest management plan, which expires in mid-November.
