Finance Committee · Meeting of June 1, 2026
Greenfield school facilities subcommittee sets July 8 as target for seating a new long-term advisory committee. The three-member Greenfield Public Schools Long-Term Facilities Use Subcommittee, Chair Sexton, Member Deneve, and Member Webb, met June 1 for roughly 27 minutes, approving its May 18 draft minutes and dividing outreach tasks for recruiting advisory committee members from the broader community. Interest forms are due June 22; the subcommittee will review applications and select nominees on June 29 before forwarding them to the full school committee for a vote on July 8.
Public commenter Jean Wall, who chairs a separate planning and construction committee, urged the subcommittee to reconsider its 10-year planning horizon, citing a reported $2 million annual city payment to a regional technical school. "I see no way to ever get anything while we're paying that much money for the tech school," Wall said, proposing the new elementary school project be placed on a 20-year plan instead.
